Mahatma Hansraj Day Assembly Classes : VI A, B, C

D.L. DAV Model school, Pitampura organized Khel Utsav ? Annual Sports Day for classes II, III and IV to VI.  The event began with the opening ceremony which was marked by dance performances and drills followed by release of colourful balloons.  The various sporting events included Hurdle Races, Skipping Race, 100 mtrs. Race, Sack Race and other which saw a lot of enthusiasm and excitement of the students.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra appreciated the zealous participation of students in the event and hoped that it would inculcate in them the passion to participate in outdoor sports.

DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized Talentica, a talent hunt extravaganza for students of classes II to V to showcase their talent in the field of dance, music, theatre, cooking etc.  The event saw incredible and amazing performances of students.  Parents were invited as jury members to judge the events. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra distributed prizes to the winners.  She urged the students to groom their talent with passion and skill to help give them identity and recognition.

Shri Shrideep Omchery, Chairman of DLDAV Model School, Pitampura inaugurated Dr. Kalam Science Park and Kalpana Chawla 3D Lab in the school premises.  The Park which has several apparatus and models will promote the culture of innovation and provide better conceptual understanding of science principles.  The 3D Lab with its life like vitual world, wide range of topics, high quality 3D animations and easy to grasp methodology will make learning immersive, exciting and fascinating.  Shri Omchery accompanied by school Manager Mrs. Kohli and Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra released balloons, released a brochure and witnessed science and math models in the lab.

DLDAV Model School organized a Career Fair in association with Centre for Career Development in school.  Mr. Jitin Chawla, CEO, CCD addressed the class XII students on new emerging unconventional careers.  He cleared doubts and answered student queries.  Dr. Tuteja from DU enlightened commerce students keen on seeking admission in DU while Mr. Hanumant spoke on how to crack competitive exams.  Students visited stalls put up by private universities, coaching centres to gather better information on opportunities available.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra conveyed that imparting of Career Information was pivotal for students in being able to make the right choice.

An array of interschool competitions - Praestantia 2017  was organized  on 26 August 2017, as a Microsoft Showcase School Event by Zenith Wing of our school and was supported by Microsoft partners The event showcased various online and offline Events. Inspiring Excellence as the aim, the Zenith Wing of our school incorporates technology in Education creating experiences that stimulate the development of essential life skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Fancy Dress on Microsoft Tool, MS Speakup, Colourfield using MS Paint, Opinion Opus using MS Word, Food- O- Magic using MS Powerpoint, Docudrama using Photostory 3, Waste Management using MS Moviemaker, Quizzer using MS Excel, Gaming on Kodu, Quizzical using Microsoft Forms and Kahoot Quiz, Sway it Mix it using MS Sway were the various Edutech competitions organized for schools not only within Delhi, but also for some schools outside Delhi. The event has been a great success as it has not only facilitated the students? learning but also proven to boost their capacity, productivity, and performance.

Ensemble 2017
Students of classes II to VI participated in Ensemble 2017, a live project display of club activities and Math, Science and English subject activities.  Based on the maxims ?learning by doing? and  ?Fun with learning? the exhibition encouraged mass participation and helped hone skills.  It kindled curiosity, developed scientific attitude and enhanced mathematical abilities.  Guests on the occasion were Mr. S.C. Sharma, Director, Publications, DAVCMC and Mr. G.C. Gupta, Retd. Associate Prof., Hansraj College.  They congratulated the school Principal for the excellence visual appeal created through art and chart work and the mesmerizing performances of the children. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra appreciated the tireless efforts of the Supervisory Incharges Mrs. Poonam Arora, Mrs. Ritu Mahajan, Staff and students on the grand success of the program.

D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura organized CROSSROADS 2017, an array of Interschool competitions, related to different subjects with the aim of fostering creativity and innovation, honing interpersonal skills and exploring talent.  Nearly 1300 students from 50 schools participated in 14 events.  The competitions included Salute India, Voc Trove, Sci-Infotainment, Valeurs Galore, Robotask, Resonance Artefact, Bridge, Kaavya Manchan, Crazy Math, Health Domain and Biznomics.

The competitions were judged by a panel of eminent jury members from different walks of life.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the participants for their overwhelming response and appreciated their outstanding performances.  The trophy for overall Best Performance was bagged by the host school but awarded to Goodley Public School, Shalimar Bagh securing second highest total points in all events. Crossroads 2017 was a grand success.

Student Exchange Program to Egypt
D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura organized an Indian Egyptian Student Cultural Exchange Program.  The program was undertaken by eight students and two teachers.  The team visited Modern Vision Language School in Egypt where they gave a mesmerizing cultural program and interacted with students.  A presentation was given on the education system of India and the activities of the school.  A number of activities were organized by the host school to allow the Indian and Egyptian students to interact with each other and understand the culture better.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed great happiness on the success of the program and conveyed that the visit would built long friendly relation not just between countries and individuals but between cultures and traditions.

A capacity building program was organized for English teachers of classes III ? X of cluster I under the aegis of DAVCAE and DAVCMC.  Around 130 teachers or cluster I attended the 3 days seminar.
