SELF DEFENCE CAMP

Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized a Self Defence Camp for girls in collaboration with Delhi Police.  A number of 377 girls between the age group of 6 to 60 years participated in the 15 days camp held in the school.  The event was conducted by 15 trainees of Delhi Police under the guidance of Inspector Ms. Anuradha.  The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Shrideep Omchery, Vice President DAVCMC and Chairman of the school.  Sh. Omchery congratulated the participants for shedding inhibitions and acquiring skills to protect themselves through Self Defence techniques.  He appreciated the school?s role in encouraging girls to learn to defend themselves in times of danger.  The valedictory ceremony was attended by DCP Ms. Varsha Sharma, SHO Mr. Ramesh and Inspector Ms. Anuradha.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated teacher coordinators Ms. Anshu and Ms. Pushpa on the success of the camp.

Aarish ? ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATED

DLDAVMS, Pitampura, celebrated Aarish ? the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2014-2015.  The Chief Guest on the occasion was Rev. Fr. Thomas V. Kunnunkal, Former Chairman, CBSE.  The cultural bonanza included Taal Kachehri ? Orchestra, Aaradhna ? Saraswati Vandana, Aakar ? Folk Dance and Ballet ? Ashoka the Invincible. Newsletter ? Samarpan was released by the Guests.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra presented the Annual Report which highlighted the achievements of the students and the new initiatives taken by the school.  She thanked the management, parents, staff and students for the progress of the school.   Chief Guest Fr. Kunnunkal congratulated the Principal and staff for the notable accomplishments of the school and its phenomenal role in shaping the destiny of students.  He applauded the efforts of the school in providing excellent infrastructure and facilitating the holistic development of the students. Chairman of the school, Shri Shrideep Omchery conveyed that the school matched global standards in terms of infrastructure, curriculum and achievements. He appreciated the mesmerising performances of the students in cultural programme.  Prizes were distributed to meritorious students for outstanding performances in the field of academics, co-curriculars and sports. The function ended with National Anthem.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS

Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized an induction programme for parents of newly admitted kids in class Nursery.  Dr. Roma Kumar, Senior Consultant, Clinical Psychologist, Sir Ganga Ram and Max Hospitals, Saksham Child and Adolescent Guidance Clinic, addressed around 700 parents on tips how to handle children in the formative years and general problems at this stage.  The talk was followed by an interaction with parents where the resource person satisfied doubts and lent expert advice.  A presentation gave a glimpse of the activities, initiatives taken, facilities at the Nursery school at TP Block.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra apprised the parents of the school vision and philosophy and urged them to cooperate and support school endeavours.

HEALTH MARCH

Students of class VI of DLDAV Model School, ND Block, Pitampura, participated in a Health March on the occasion of Earth Day Celebration.  The flag was marched off by Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra who urged the students to conserve environment and adopt healthy lifestyles and spread awareness of the same around.  The students displayed slogans, presented a street play and interacted with eminent personalities of the neighbourhood like Sh. Raj Kumar Poddar, Ex Councilor, MCD, Sh. MPS Chadha (Jathedar), President, RWA, MD Block, Pitampura and Dr. Devender Aggarwal, Gen. Secretary, RWA, ND Block, Pitampura.  The dignitaries congratulated the students for their efforts in upholding a noble cause.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY HELD

DLDAV, Pitampura, held the Investiture Ceremony to swear in the Senior Student Council members and Prefectorial Board 2013-2014.  The House Flags handed to the Principal by House Teachers were received by the newly appointed House Prefects.  Head Boy Chhahat Malhotra received the school flag along with Headgirl Saloni Mittal, Deputy Headgirl Arpita Dania, Deputy Headboy Dhruv Bawa and other Council members.  All these students pledged to uphold the tradition and values of the institution and perform their duties with sincerity and dedication.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the students and expressed hope that hand in hand the Council and Prefectorial Board would help maintain discipline and cleanliness in school and by their efforts bring honour and glory to the school.  Investiture Ceremony was held for the Middle and Primary school students as well.

EXPO 2016 ORGANISED

Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized Annual Exhibition EXPO 2016 on the themes of International year of Pulses 2016, Sustaining India ? Vision 2030 and India ? Uninterrupted.  The Exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Shrideep Omchery, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the School.  Other distinguished guests included Dr. Abhijeet Kar, Sr. Scientist, ICAR, Dr. S.P. Dutta, Principal Scientist, SS & AC, IARI, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Faculty, Department of Education, Head Publication Department, NCERT, Mr.  Ankur  Gupta, Managing Director, Orange Education, Mr. Varun Malhotra, Country Head, Orange Education and Shri. S.C. Gupta, Manager.

A kaleidoscope of students? talent, creativity, innovation and knowledge, EXPO 2016 also gave wings to the dreams of students.  Besides enchanting displays, mesmerizing performances, captivating presentations, students impressed the guests with their vast awareness and sense of responsibility towards the planet.  The highlights of the event were activities and projects by different classes and  school Clubs like Scientia, Cyberite, Mathemagica, Robotronics, Rhetorics and others.  Chief Guest Shri Omchery congratulated the Principal, Staff and Students for the amazing experience and the excellent display of teamwork and skills.  He expressed confidence that students of the school would lead an active life with responsibility and competence in future.

ULLAS UTSAV 2016 ? CLASSES IV & V

DLDAV, Pitampura, organized ULLAS UTSAV, the Annual Cultural Fest for classes IV and V.  The Festival of joy which recognizes the uniqueness of every child gave an opportunity to every student of the class to participate in the cultural programme.  Parents were invited to witness the event and encourage their children to be a part of all school activities.  The event not only tapped the talent of the children but also provided exposure, instilled confidence and promoted teamwork and cooperation.  The cultural programme included Orchestra, Euphoria ? Western Dance and Ballet ? Veer Abhimanyu. The Ballet revolved around the valiant character of Abhimanyu and his unfortunate death in the Chakravyuh. Prizes were given away to meritorious students and medals under good reading project and good communication skills.  Chief Guest Mrs. Madhu Omchery, School Patron praised the spectacular performance of children and appreciated the vision and aim of the event. Other guests on the occasion included Dr. Rama, Principal, Hansraj College, Shri. ULLAS UTSAV 2016 ? CLASSES II & III

The guests on the occasion included Mrs. Ratnashree, Director, Nehru Planetarium,  Dr. Ashok Chawla, Sr. Scientist, CSIR, Mr. Deepak Goel, Entrepreneur, Shri S.C. Gupta, Manager of the school and PTA.  They applauded the spectacular performance of children and appreciated the vision and aim of the event. RAZZMATAZZ
The CBSE International wing of DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized Annual Function, Razzmatazz to showcase the talent of students of the wing.  The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri. Shrideep Omcheri, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the school. The cultural programme, which involved 100% participation of students, involved Saraswati Vandana, Impulse and dances and presentation of Shakespeare?s play ?The Merchant of Venice? staged by children.  A cheque of 58,750/- was handed over to Mrs. Anupama Datta, Director, Policy Research and Development, Helpage India. The money was collected through fund raising sales organized under the aegis of Sambhaav ? Care and Share project.  Master Rajat Jain, a school alumnus was felicitated, who has secured 100% was felicitated by Chairman Sir, who applauded the outstanding performances of the students and the achievements of the school.  Principal      Mrs. Anita Wadehra elaborated the unique features of the CBSE International wing and the progress made by both students and teachers.  The function was a grand success.
