Organic Farming
Students of Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura Eco Club participated in an Eco Awareness Campaign in collaboration with NGO Bhoomi Ka.  A kitchen garden will be maintained where students will grow organic vegetables to spread the awareness of harmful effect of synthetic inputs like fertilizers and pesticides. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra urged the students to participate wholeheartedly as organic farming was essential for good health and to protect ourselves from physical illness.

TINKERFEST 2018
Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized Inter School Tinkerfest 2018 to unfold creativity and visualization of students. The fest included mentor sessions to acquaint students with working and programming of Arduino UNO board. Each group of students designed and exhibited ?Toys from Trash?. The event drew an overwhelming response. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra hailed the availability of modern technology in triggering creativity and innovation in students.

REJUVENATION AND FELICITATION 2018
DarbariLal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized Rejuvenation ? Motivational Address for teachers and Felicitation Ceremony of class XII students by school Chairman Shri Shrideep Omchery.  In his address to the teachers and students, Mr. Omchery congratulated them on their success in Board examination and school endeavours.  He urged the teachers to prepare themselves to take up stringent challenges and to avail opportunities as they come.  He hoped that they would not become complacent with the accomplishments but move ahead to scale greater heights.  He then awarded students for excelling in class XII CBSE Board Examination.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed gratitude to Chairman Sir for being a beacon of light and inspiration for everybody in the school.

Inauguration of Atal Tinkering Lab
The inauguration of the Atal Tinkering Lab at DLDAV Model School was a grand affair.  A galaxy of guests which included Mr. Deepanshu, Expert in team from Atal Innovation Mission, Govt. of India, Shri Shrideep Omchery, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the School, LMC member Shri J. K. Kapoor Ji, Principals of DAV schools, Members of PTA, Parents and Members of Alumni attended the event. They witnessed an insightful presentation on Envision 2030 which highlighted the progress that advancement in technology would bring about and the initiatives taken by the school in this regard.  The Astronomy Club of the school set up hands on experience display of activities undertaken in the Club while the Cyber Club apprised the guests of the role of Cyber Congress Cell of the school in spreading awareness about Cyber Safety.  The innovative and creative activities presented by children through robotics, electrical gadgets in the AT Lab were a treat to watch. Later in an interaction with students, the guests conveyed that science, computer or machines could never replace man as they were created by human beings.  They applauded the efforts of the school in giving exposure and opportunity to students with the best of infrastructure.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed gratitude to the guests for their guidance and encouragement.

CROSSROADS 2018


D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura organized CROSSROADS 2018, an array of Interschool competitions, related to different subjects with the aim of fostering creativity and innovation, honing interpersonal skills and exploring talent.  Nearly 1200 students from 49 schools participated in 12 events.  The competitions included Razzle Dazzle, Black ?N? White, Tel with a Twist, Sci-Infotainment, Author Parade, Robotask, Resonance Artefact, Bridge, Kaavyanjali, Mathemind, Digitease and Health Domain.

The competitions were judged by a panel of eminent jury members from different walks of life.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the participants for their overwhelming response and appreciated their outstanding performances.  The trophy for overall Best Performance was bagged by the host school but awarded to Vikas Bharti Public School, Sector 24, Rohini securing second highest total points in all events. Crossroads 2018 was a grand success.

KITE FLYING CONTEST
 

Students of class XII of DLDAV Model School, Pitampura participated in a Kite Flying Competition organized in the school on the occasion Independence Day.  The class wise activity drew an overwhelming response of the students who brought and decorated colourful kites for the event.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra declared the event open.  She urged the students to rise above petty prejudices and explore the limitless sky like the kites.  The competition was judged on the basis of the height of the kites flown, the number of kites cut and for the creative and innovative kites.

KREATIV 2018


DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized Kreativ 2018, an array of Interschool German Competitions in association with Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhawan. Over 200 participants from 33 schools of Delhi, NCR participated in the competitions. Mr. Carl Jochen Dill - Head, Educational Services, South Asia, Mrs. Kavita Chhabra & Mrs. Mohita Miglani - Project Managers, Goethe Institute, Max Muller Bhavan, Mr. Stefan Von Thenen - Intern, Mrs. Prachi Kapoor - Resource person graced the event. The competitions included German Kitchen, German Magazine, Wordcheck, Weave a story and Talk Show.  Mr. Carl congratulated the school Principal for taking the initiative of encouraging students to opt for a foreign language.

Students visit Sweden as participants of Life Link International Schools Conference 2018
A Team of 7 Students  and 1 teacher from our school were fortunate to participate in the 20th Life-Link International School Conference, which was scheduled  from 16-21 June 2018 at Sigtuna, Sweden. 12 schools from 6 countries namely Egypt, India, Russia, Iran, Sweden and Lebanon participated in the Conference that  focused on a few of the many challenges that the world faces, as formulated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG:s) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.The main theme was Peace and Nuclear Threat and a taste of the real world with a live UN climate role play.

The conference was held in Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL) in Sigtuna, which was one of the biggest and renowned Boarding School of Sweden.
 
Life-Link Friendship-Schools is an independent Non Governmental Organisation with international contacts in more than 60 countries worldwide and aims to promote contact and cooperation between young people around the world and their schools, through active participation in shared projects, vital for our time (e.g. Environment, Human Rights, Conflict Resolution and Constructive Collaboration).

The goals of the programme are to discuss the future and the possibility of world peace, the issue of nuclear threat and its impact on the world and climate, to participate in the UN climate role play, to show one?s schools work within the areas: Care for yourself, Care for Others and Care for Nature, get new contacts from around the world that could last a lifetime, get other schools perspectives and ideas during various discussion held during the conference.

MOON WATCH
Students of Astronomy class of D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura had an evening rendezvous with the sky.  Resource person Mr. Abhinav spoke on the types and uses of telescopes in Astronomy.  He also discussed limitations and modifications in the field of telescopes.  Thereafter students were taken out for moon watch.  Students week shown the various constellations visible in the sky and they focused on different stars in the sky.  Parents were also invited for the activity.  Principal Mrs. Wadehra appreciated the efforts of the Resource Person and the team for arranging an enriching session.
