Zonasa 2016 - Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony
DLDAVMS, Pitampura, celebrated Zonasa ? Stoking the Fire, the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2015-2016. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. V. P. Joy, Central Provident Fund Commissioner. The cultural bonanza included Symphony? Welcome song and Orchestra, Resonance ? Aum Vandana, Tarang ? creative dance and Shakespeare?s play? Macbeth. News Bulletin ? Universalis was released by the Guests.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra presented the Annual Report which highlighted the achievements of the students and the new initiatives taken by the school.  She thanked the management, parents, staff and students for the progress of the school.   Chief Guest Dr. V.P. Joy congratulated the Principal and staff for the notable accomplishments of the school and its phenomenal role in shaping the destiny of students.  He applauded the efforts of the school in providing excellent infrastructure and facilitating the holistic development of the students. Chairman of the school, Shri Shrideep Omchery conveyed that the school matched global standards in terms of infrastructure, curriculum and achievements. He appreciated the mesmerising performances of the students in cultural programme.  Prizes were distributed to meritorious students for outstanding performances in the field of academics, co-curriculars and sports. The function ended with National Anthem.

SAMBHAAV ? CRAFT BAZAAR ORGANISED
Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized SAMBHAAV ? A Craft Bazaar, a sale cum exhibition of articles made by students of classes II to XII. The project titled Commonwealth School Enterprise Challenge Programme was supported by International Education Society ?Teach a man to fish?.  All the articles were handmade from Eco Friendly Waste Material.  The items included diyas, candles, hanging lamps, mats, greeting cards, mobile covers, bandhanvaars sanitizers etc.  The exercise aimed to identify talent and reward social entrepreneurs of tomorrow.  It also created awareness about the importance of protecting environment by recycling.  The event received an overwhelming response from both students and parents.  While students exhibited their skill and enthusiasm by submitting hand made products, the parents purchased these from bazaar organized for them. Stalls put up by Interacts of Rotary Club of the school and volunteers from Mental Health Foundation were also thronged by parents and students. The money i.e. approximately Rs. 60,000/-, raised by the sale will be donated as charity to NGO ? Sewa Bharti, Samvedna and MHF.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed great satisfaction on the contribution of one and all towards a noble cause.

ARYA SAMAJ VARSHIK UTSAV
DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized the Arya Samaj Varshik Utsav. A motivational talk to teachers on human values was delivered by Dr. Mahesh Vidhyalankar, a renowned scholar and staunch arya samajist.  Dr. Mahesh enumerated the need to be balanced individuals in behavior and deed to establish balance in nature.  He urged the teachers to rise above petty prejudices and be good human beings.  The entire staff also participated in havan activity and bhajans followed by community lunch.  Staff members appreciated the activity which they believed was very inspirational and lifted their morale and spirits.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra conveyed that the programme was a step towards strengthening unity, peace, harmony and brotherhood.

CHRYSALIS 2016
DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized Chrysalis, the annual event of students of classes Nursery to I in TP Block.  The programme was graced by school Chairman Sh. Shrideep Omchery who also released the school magazine Asmita on the occasion.  He witnessed with awe the mesmerizing performances of students on the themes Fitness Fiesta.  The story session by Grandmother and exhibition ?Diorama? was an icing on the cake.  Sh. Omchery expressed great joy on the amazing presentations of students and excellent coordination of teachers.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra conveyed that Chrysalis was an attempt to tap the talent of the children and give them an effective platform to exhibit it.  Besides it also instilled valuable qualities of teamwork, patience and cooperation.

HEALTH MELA
Students of Arya Yuva Club & Interacts of Rotary Club of Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized a Health Mela in the school.  The event included a blood donation camp and a medical check up by alumni doctors of the institution.  The esteemed panel of doctors included Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dermatologist, Dr. Gaurav Dinesh and Dr. Shikha Jain, Dental Surgeons, Dr. Gaurav Nagpal, Opthomologist, Dr. Neeru Chugh, ENT, Dr. Yogesh Kumar, General Physician, Ms. Kamal Yadav, Dietician, besides doctors from Helpage India and Rotary Club.

A large number of parents, staff members and school alumni turned up for the event.  A total number of 96 units of blood were collected by a team of doctors facilitated by Rotary Blood Bank, Noida.  The donors were served refreshments and presented a souvenir.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the teacher coordinators Mrs. Niti, Mrs. Sandeep and Mrs. Purnima for the excellent organization of the event.  She appreciated the humble contribution of alumni doctors and their selfless services to their alma mater.  Rtn. Vivek Sardana, District Director, New Generation and Rtn. Mohan Nagpal, Dist. Rotoract Committee Chairman, congratulated the Principal and staff for the successful organization of the annual event and collection of considerable units of healthy blood despite the odds of chikanguniya and dengue.

TALENTICA 2016
Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized Talentica a talent hunt extravaganza for students of classes II to V.  The event aimed to explore and tap the hidden talent of children and give them a platform to display it. The various competitions held under the banner were cooking, dance, singing, wealth out of waste, mono acting, poem recitation and paper folding.  There was a whole hearted participation of students who impressed the judges by their amazing performances. Language Lab Inaugurated
Darbari Lal DAV Model School, ND Block, Pitampura believes in activity based learning which is integrated in the curriculum.  Stress is laid on enhancement of communication skills.  A feather in the cap was added with the inauguration of the Language Lab by the school Chairman Shri Shrideep Omchery, Vice President, DAVCMC. The multimedia, digital and computerized language lab with audio-video techniques will help gain proficiency in the language and effortlessly improve the LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills of the children. Shri Omchery congratulated the school principal for facilitating quality infrastructure for the holistic development of students. EXPO 2016 ORGANISED
School organized Annual Exhibition EXPO 2016 on the themes of International year of Pulses 2016, Sustaining India ? Vision 2030 and India ? Uninterrupted.  The Exhibition was inaugurated by ShriShrideepOmchery, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the School.  Other distinguished guests included Dr. AbhijeetKar, Sr. Scientist, ICAR, Dr. S.P. Dutta, Principal Scientist, SS & AC, IARI, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Faculty, Department of Education, Head Publication Department, NCERT, Mr.  Ankur  Gupta, Managing Director, Orange Education, Mr. VarunMalhotra, Country Head, Orange Education and Shri. S.C. Gupta, Manager.

A kaleidoscope of students? talent, creativity, innovation and knowledge, EXPO 2016 also gave wings to the dreams of students.  Besides enchanting displays, mesmerizing performances, captivating presentations, students impressed the guests with their vast awareness and sense of responsibility towards the planet.  The highlights of the event were activities and projects by different classes and  school Clubs like Scientia, Cyberite, Mathemagica, Robotronics, Rhetorics and others.  Chief Guest ShriOmchery congratulated the Principal, Staff and Students for the amazing experience and the excellent display of teamwork and skills.  He expressed confidence that students of the school would lead an active life with responsibility and competence in future.

Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra conveyed that EXPO 2-16 would inculcate values, enrich education and lead students to lifelong learning.

Kite Flying Contest
Students of class XII  participated in a Kite Flying Competition organized in the school on the occasion Independence Day.  The class wise activity drew an overwhelming response of the students who brought and decorated colourful kites for the event.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra declared the event open.  She urged the students to rise above petty prejudices and explore the limitless sky like the kites.  The competition was judged on the basis of the height of the kites flown, the number of kites cut and for the creative and innovative kites.
