Mahatma Hansraj Day Assembly Classes : VI A, B, C

DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized a two day Smart Girl Programme for girls of class IX conducted by Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana. The enriching and enlightening sessions enabled the students to know themselves, to know their emotions and to know their surroundings thereby instilling confidence leading them to become strong and happy.  Through life changing sessions which imparted positive belief in family and friends thereby empowering them to overcome challenges, the programme facilitated easy transition from childhood to adulthood.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed gratitude to Mr. Padam & Mrs. Anjali Jain for the parent initiative and hoped to extend the programme to other classes as well.

DLDAV Model School organized a 3 days Career Fair for students of classes IX to XII. Mr. Jitin Chawla, CEO, Centre for Career Development, addressed the class XII students on new emerging unconventional careers.  He cleared doubts and answered student queries. A number of universities, coaching institutes and eminent counsellors participated in the Fair which catered to various interests of students like Hotel Management, Fashion Designing, Engineering, Entrepreneurship and others.  Speakers enlightened students on how to select a career, know the right processes and be aware of the challenges they could confront. Students visited stalls put up by private universities, coaching centres to gather better information on opportunities available. School Alumni, settled in lucrative careers attended the Fair on two days and shared their success stories with the children. They motivated the students to identify their passions and aptitude and with focused planning strive to achieve their goals. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra conveyed that imparting of Career Information was pivotal for students in being able to make the right choice. She thanked members of school alumni for their inspiring talks to the children.

In its effort to provide holistic education, impart leadership qualities, promote team spirit and groom life skills into children, Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura runs a number of clubs in the school. Induction ceremony of various clubs was held where students were given responsibilities and specific roles to play in the projects adopted by the clubs.  The clubs include law club, health and wellness club, Neocentric club, finlit club, rotary club, best club and others. The cyberite club organized a cyber awareness week to make students aware about cyber-crime and the measures to be taken while availing the social media. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra urged the children to fulfill responsibilties with sincerity and dedication and sensitize others on pertinent issues.

Kreativ 2019
DLDAV Model School, Pitampura organized Kreativ 2019, an array of Interschool German Competitions in association with Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhawan. Over 290 participants from 33 schools of Delhi, NCR participated in the competitions. The event was inaugurated by Dr. N.K. Uberoi, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman of the School.   Other distinguished guests included Ms. Mohita Miglani, Ms. Preeti Shah & Ms. Vibhuti, Project Managers and Project Coordinators from Goethe Institute, Max Muller Bhavan and Ms. Manisha Bhuttan, German Teacher from Delhi University. The competitions included Show and Tell, German Kitchen, T-shirt Painting, Puppet Show, Graffiti and Talk Show. Dr. N.K. Uberoi spoke on the increasing importance of multilingualism in today?s era. He appreciated the school?s efforts to provide wholesome opportunities to students.  Ms. Mohita congratulated the school Principal for taking the initiative of encouraging students to opt for a foreign language.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed great satisfaction at the overwhelming response to the event and the presence of illustrious dignitaries on the event.

Ensemble 2019
Students of classes II to VI of D.L.DAV Model School, Pitampura participated in Ensemble 2019, a live project display of Club activities and Math, Science and English subject activities.  Based on the maxims ?learning by doing? and ?Fun with learning? the exhibition encouraged mass participation and helped hone skills.  It kindled curiosity, developed scientific attitude and enhanced mathematical abilities.  The event was graced by Shri J.K. Kapoor, Secretary, DAVCMC, Mrs. Adarsh Kohli, Manager of the school, Mrs. Chandla, Member LMC & Mrs. Reena Sangwan and Mr. Sunil Pahwa, school alumni. The guests congratulated the school Principal for the excellent visual appeal created through art and chart work and the mesmerizing performances of the children. D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura organized CROSSROADS 2019, an array of Interschool competitions, related to different subjects with the aim of fostering creativity and innovation, honing interpersonal skills and exploring talent.  Nearly 1300 students from 54 schools participated in 13 events.  The competitions included TECH ATTIRE, JINGLE AND LAUGH, PLAY-O-POEM, SCI-INFOTAINMENT, BATTLE OF WORDS, ROBOTASK, RESONANCE  ARTEFACT, BRIDGE, KAAVY MANCHAN, IMPERSONATING EMOTIONS, MATH EDU LAB, BIZNOMICS & HEALTH DOMAIN.

The competitions were judged by a panel of eminent jury members from different walks of life.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra congratulated the participants for their overwhelming response and appreciated their outstanding performances.  The trophy for overall Best Performance was bagged by the host school but awarded to INDRAPRASTHA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, DWARKA securing second highest total points in all events. Crossroads 2019 was a grand success.

Financial Literacy Workshop
D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura launched the pioneer project on ?Financial Literacy?, under the aegis of DAV United Foundation.  The event was graced by Mr. Ram Kumar, Zonal Manager PNB, Mr. Varun Malhotra, an eminent speaker and other high officials from Yes Bank and OBC Bank.  The workshop focused on budgeting, setting financial goals and encouraged planning and saving. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra, expressed gratitude to Mr. Manoj Mittal, CEO Alumni Management Company, for creating a dynamic platform for parents, teachers, alumni and the students to realize the worth of financial awareness.  She also thanked Mr. Varun for an extremely enlightening and educative session on the subject.

Talk on Thalassemia
The Arya Yuva Club of D.L. DAV Model School, Pitampura organized a Talk on the Thalassemia for students of class XII, under the aegis of Rotary Club Delhi Akash 3012.  Dr. Tejinder Singh enlightened the students about the blood disorder that runs through families in which body forms inadequate haemoglobin and can be prevented by spreading awareness about it.  She motivated students for blood testing for early detection of the problem.  Thereafter a Free Testing of blood camp of Thalassemia was organized in school by Rotary Blood Bank where 93 students were tested. Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra urged the students to treat the event as a campaign and join hands to combat the problem.

Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Pitampura organized Felicitation Ceremony of class XII students by school Chairman Dr. N.K. Uberoi.  In his address to the teachers and students, Dr. Uberiu congratulated them on their success in Board examination and school endeavours.  He urged the teachers to prepare themselves to take up stringent challenges and to avail opportunities as they come.  He hoped that they would not become complacent with the accomplishments but move ahead to scale greater heights.  He then awarded students for excelling in class XII CBSE Board Examination.  Principal Mrs. Anita Wadehra expressed gratitude to Chairman Sir for being a beacon of light and inspiration for everybody in the school.
